Our Ministry Goals for the Year 2010

Welcome to North Andean Field in South America! Here, you’ll discover that God is dynamically working among the people of Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. The field's ministry began in 1972 and has since developed into 17 districts. Along with churches, you’ll find several schools, a medical clinic, two campgrounds and the South American Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Cali, Colombia, hosts the largest church on the field with over 4,000 members. Persecution and threats from the guerrilla and drug factions abound; yet, God’s work continues to grow in and through the lives of our Colombian Nazarenes.

Our Vision
The North Andean Field logo represents our vision for the field. Each component corresponds to a significant part of our goals for growth: Holiness, Prayer, Evangelism, Discipleship and Leadership Development.

Holiness and Prayer
In the logo, holiness and prayer surround the other three components which purposefully represents the fact that holiness and prayer surround everything we do. Because holiness is the foundation of our Nazarene heritage, its teaching permeates our work. We also bathe our people and our activities in prayer to ensure that our ministries glorify God. It’s only with these two essential ingredients that we will accomplish God’s will for the field.

Evangelism
While the Jesus Film Ministry continues to be our main evangelistic thrust, other opportunities to share the Gospel include personal evangelism and compassionate ministries.

Discipleship
We use the Big Brother plan of the Church of the Nazarene for discipleship. Nazarenes pray for specific unsaved friends, family members or neighbors and then invite these people to an evangelistic service or a Jesus Film viewing. At these strategic events, we always give an opportunity for a decision for Christ. Once someone is saved, our “big brothers/sisters” disciple their “little brothers/sisters” until they are established in their Christian walk.

Leadership Development
We equip our pastors and laity through Leadership Development. At the local, district and national levels, we provide training opportunities through seminars, retreats and literature.

Our Goals for Growth
Pray with us that our goals will be realized by 2010:
  • 750 local churches
